SmartSleep Privacy Policy

This privacy policy describes how SmartSleep handles personal data and study-related information.

此私隱政策說明 SmartSleep 如何處理個人資料及研究相關資訊。

SmartSleep is provided by The Chinese University of Hong Kong for authorized app operations, research support, and related user services.

SmartSleep 由香港中文大學提供，用於獲授權的應用程式運作、研究支援及相關用戶服務。

1. Information we may collect 我們可能收集的資料

  • Account information such as username, email address, phone number, age, and gender
  • Sleep diary entries and related daily habit records
  • Mood, wellbeing, and questionnaire responses
  • Media or self-assessment content submitted through the app, if applicable
  • Reminder and notification-related information needed for app functionality
  • 帳戶資料，例如用戶名稱、電郵地址、電話號碼、年齡及性別
  • 睡眠日記及相關日常習慣紀錄
  • 心情、健康狀況及問卷回應
  • 透過應用程式提交的媒體或自評內容（如適用）
  • 應用程式功能所需的提醒與通知相關資料

2. How information is used 資料用途

  • To provide SmartSleep app features and structured study workflows
  • To record sleep, mood, and health-related self-report information
  • To support research operations and analysis on an authorized basis
  • To communicate reminders, support responses, and account-related notices
  • 提供 SmartSleep 應用程式功能及結構化研究流程
  • 記錄睡眠、心情及健康相關自我回報資料
  • 在獲授權基礎上支援研究運作與分析
  • 發送提醒、支援回覆及帳戶相關通知

3. Permissions and device access 權限與裝置存取

  • Camera: used when a user records permitted mood or self-assessment content within the app
  • Microphone: used together with camera features when a user records permitted audio or video self-assessment content
  • Photos or media library: used when a user chooses screenshots or images to upload within supported flows
  • Notifications: used to send reminders and app-related alerts
  • 相機：當用戶在應用程式內記錄獲允許的心情或自評內容時使用
  • 麥克風：與相機功能一同使用，以錄製獲允許的聲音或影片自評內容
  • 相片或媒體資料庫：當用戶於支援流程中選擇上載截圖或圖片時使用
  • 通知：用於發送提醒及與應用程式相關的提示

4. Data sharing 資料分享

Personal data will not be publicly disclosed. Data may be accessed and used by The Chinese University of Hong Kong, authorized research team members, and service providers or processors engaged to support app operations, hosting, storage, notifications, technical support, or related institutional workflows, subject to applicable privacy obligations and access controls. SmartSleep does not sell personal data.

個人資料不會被公開披露。資料可由香港中文大學、獲授權研究團隊成員，以及為支援應用程式營運、託管、儲存、通知、技術支援或相關機構流程而參與的服務供應商或處理者，在遵守適用私隱責任及存取管控下使用。SmartSleep 不會出售個人資料。

5. Data security 資料安全

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal and study-related data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

我們採取合理的行政、技術及組織措施，以保護個人資料及研究相關資料，防止未經授權的存取、披露、更改或遺失。然而，任何傳輸或儲存方式均無法保證絕對安全。

6. Data retention and deletion 資料保存及刪除

Personal and study-related data may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for app functionality, authorized research, record-keeping, security, legal, or institutional compliance purposes. When data is no longer required for these purposes, it may be deleted, de-identified, or otherwise handled in accordance with applicable requirements and operational constraints.

個人資料及研究相關資料可按合理需要保存，用於應用程式功能、獲授權研究、紀錄保存、安全、法律或機構合規用途。當資料不再需要用於上述用途時，可按適用要求及實際營運限制予以刪除、去識別化或以其他方式處理。
